(English) • Usually no fasting is required for an APTT (Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time) test. • You can eat and drink normally unless your doctor gives special instructions. • Drink enough water before the test to help with blood collection. • Inform your doctor or laboratory staff about all medicines you are taking, especially blood thinners such as Heparin, Warfarin, Aspirin, or other anticoagulant medicines. • Do not stop any prescribed medicine without consulting your doctor. • Avoid smoking and alcohol before the test if possible. • Inform the lab if you have any bleeding disorder, liver disease, or recent surgery. • This is a blood test used to evaluate blood clotting function and bleeding disorders.
